Diverter valve for mk4 gti?????

Looking to get diverter valve for my mk4 gti,but not sure what to get? APR R1 or FORGE?? Or there is something else ?? Thanks guys.....

Check the std one and leave it on there if it's ok. TBH I have changed my stance on these recently and would only remove a bad one. If you need a replacement the newest version of the OE item seems to be pretty good.

Thing is I don't have one at all. Lines have been blocked and I can't find that hose that connects on top of dv,smallest one..... Must be removed or something by previous owner.

Forge seems the say to go. alternatively the Turbosmart range works well.

Seems odd. Is the turbo working? Here's a picture of where the small hose goes might help.

Yea it is a bit odd. Tomorrow will try to find it. I think turbo works,but could that be issue with power lose when engine is warm? Maybe goes in limp mode?

APR R1 not very good? Forge requires maintenance as well every now and than.

I think it depends which Forge valve you buy as to the maintenance..
I wouldnt pay the APR premium price for a valve thats no better than any of the others.
just make sure it is a complete plumb back unit with nothing to atmosphere.

The turbo should work fine without a diverter valve. just means it will make tututu noises when you get off the gas like all the hectic VL Turbos...

That's exactly what's happening. Never heard that noise before..... Have couple stock ones in shed,will try out best one,but first need to find that small hose that connects on top of dv.

it won't hurt it. but for longevity a DV is certainly beneficial.
the turbo will also slow down less when you get off and back on the throttle as the air goes out the DV instead of back through the turbine slowing it down if that makes sense?
