I read on the German R32 forum that the Mk V does not have a forged crank like the Mk IV - thats the only place I have ever seen this mentioned so might be worth further investigation before you start pumping it up.

The Mk 6 Golf R would probably be a more sensible idea unless someone comes out with an affordable & Reliable RHD SC kit, would be fun but not the best investment..
