The rear seats in the R weigh about 6 tonnes. But they're very simple to remove.
One day when I go to the track they'll be the first thing that comes out as well as the spare kit. They will stay in though for daily driving.
    Cheers,
    Trent

You'd be better just stripping the weight from the R32.. but i like having a comfortable road car as well
OK....yep saw that....wat i like to see is the specs on the 04 R32 Racecars....these cars were weapons on the track and not catchable....

I thought the rear seats gave a whole lot of extra rigidity through the stresses of a racetrack> Obviously if you have a rear brace that isn't an issue.

I'll tell you what mate you'll notice the difference it makes. Especially with the seats down or out you'll hear it creaking and groaning as the rear strut towers try to flex against it.

i'll go a bit off topic, what about a 24v 2.8? are there any cheaper alternatives than listed here for the R? I know that replacing a stock rear box with an aftermarket will give a few extra kWs and save a good amount of weight (at the rear though )
