won't that be hell loud? yeah it would, but i don't think that would be legal.

i had to add a resonator to mine.

check out the latest issue of MOTOR there are 2 R32's in there.

one is boosted one isn't. you'll smile and chuckle when you see the boosted one.

are you after real life usable power and torque, or outright dyno bragging rights
(which I don't think the R32 is about...)?

    oh ok.

    as trent said.

basically it get all expensive when you have to crack open the engine.

    the bolt on stuff:

    ecu
    exhaust
    cai

after that, it gets pricey, and dollar per Kw, it gets scary...

I think all of our R32's could do with a bit more power

I agree with that list.. the easiest things.. Next I'd do the headers which did help on my Mk5 get somewhere between 4-8kw @ all fours, but they aren't cheap and was a good 6hrs labor to fit them. They also made my exhaust quieter. I know the mk5 has a bit more power but with CDA, headers, APR retune and Milltek catback i dyno'd 149kw at all four wheels (147kW was the average). Before that got 146 at the front wheels in 2wd mode with the DMS retune.

Not sure about cams but I think they'd be a bit noisy for the street and may ruin the daily drive (may gain some top end power but lose a bit down low?) but it's good to know where to stop and appreciate it for what it is. I'd concentrate on the suspension and handling if you haven't already. Ian's R32 demonstrated this in the lap times for the Motor mag shootout.

Cat backs don't really help it's more for sound which can be deceiving but with such a great engine it's nice to improve the note.

A supercharger would be a lot better though .

On the MkIV they actually do a bit. The difference after I installed mine was quite noticeable. Not so much power wise (you're never really going to ever notice a few kw) but the ability of the engine to rev so much more eagerly.

The other big difference at least in mine was the weight reduction. The stock exhaust pretty much requires two people to carry whereas the B&B/APR can be lifted easily by one.

The MkV R32 i'm not so sure about. From what I've read I thought the extra 7kW or so it makes over the MkIV was down to different intake and exhaust design pretty much?

    Cheers,
    Trent
