    dash warning light

    Hey everyone,

Got a VW bora V6 getting warning lights on dash only after specific driving conditions

after driving for exactly one hour the EPC and ESP lights come on (EPC the computer, ESP the traction control). when i keep driving say another 15minutes the EPC light goes off but ESP stays on.(and the EPC may come on again 20minutes later and so story goes)
However after leaving car over night and start again in morning the lights are gone/off??
these lights only come on after driving for exaclty one hour!?? during week never on as only drive 30 minutes each way to work.

Furthermore when EPC and ESP lights are on specifically the EPC its as if the car suddenly looses extra hp?? does Bora V6 have a limp mode??

anyone had or seen this problem??

    thanks,
    simon

Hey Simon, tricky one mate. You might have to get it plugged in to test for fault codes.

    hey,

looked on VW invoice it states - air mass meter is needed so unsure if MAF or AFM (i thought the V6 bora had MAF) i presume they perform the same function though in basic form

yeah xchange was $400 something and installed

its the same thing, just people call it one or the other,MAF or AFM..

yeah, 1 and half hours to install a MAf sounds about right, the rest of us could do it in 15 min!!

    Wow.

I got 2 MAFs from VAGParts UK for ~$220 each and they take all of about 3minutes to install.

I have one spare but i don't think it'd be compatible with your v6.

Has anyone cleaned theirs? I was thinking about doing it just to be on the safe side to try and prevent it from failing...
