    Cruise control?

Does the cruise control in an mk4 use a vacuum pump?

No, it's completely electric from what I can tell. It uses potentiometers in the throttle body to regulate the speed. I could be wrong thou..

Have not spotted a vacuum pump on the MK4 I'm parting out. It's got factory cruise.

Fully electric. That's also why you can't have factory cruise control without an electronic throttle.

If you have an electronic accelerator pedal (with EPC light in dash), then the cruise is controlled from the engine ECU moving the electronic throttle plate.
