Wanted to snazz up the apperance of the car a little more so decided to have a go at painting the calipers, took a lot longer than I thought it would and the job is so so but it does look nice. I only did the rears due to time constraints, will do the fronts tonight.
The old tired looking calipers
All masked up, this is a fiddly ass job
After 4 coats of 3M caliper paint
And with the wheel back on and in the daylight. Dont mind the gutter rash, thats another couple months away from repair.
Then we went to the exhaust shop this morning. The guys at Ringwood Performance Exhaust were nice as usual and listened to everything I wanted before kicking me out of the workshop so they could get on with business and I could get on with a coffee after the 90 minute drive to get there... but not before I got a parting shot of the old suitcase and pancake
A couple hours and $390 later (including $120 for new tips so good value in my opinion)
No dodgey dump, smooth mandrel and the pancake is officially deleted plus the tips are nice and flush with the valance. Flapper is wired open for now and the sound will take a little getting used to. Its not as deep any more especially at low revs but get it up to 4k and the sound is very exciting, unfortunately traffic and road rules stopped me being able to pursue this search for a chub in 3rd and 4th where I feel the v6 does its best work.
All in all very happy with the end result, now just need to land a solenoid and wire the flapper switch up
