I will get a can of each: plastic primer, base (lc9z) and clear. Total cost is about $45 and I get to have a play which is always fun, plus I have some other things that need a coat although thats a whole other project.

Exhaust getting done in the morning, there will be pics but not sure about vids, there are tons of vids on this conversion already. Workshop said I cant be in there during work but before and after on the hoist is fine, I will be sure to get all the details

Dyldo was going to post a price/time comparison, would love to see that as my quote of 4 hours, $500 while not cheap should mean decent work.

Wanted to snazz up the apperance of the car a little more so decided to have a go at painting the calipers, took a lot longer than I thought it would and the job is so so but it does look nice. I only did the rears due to time constraints, will do the fronts tonight.

    The old tired looking calipers

All masked up, this is a fiddly ass job

After 4 coats of 3M caliper paint

And with the wheel back on and in the daylight. Dont mind the gutter rash, thats another couple months away from repair.

Then we went to the exhaust shop this morning. The guys at Ringwood Performance Exhaust were nice as usual and listened to everything I wanted before kicking me out of the workshop so they could get on with business and I could get on with a coffee after the 90 minute drive to get there... but not before I got a parting shot of the old suitcase and pancake

A couple hours and $390 later (including $120 for new tips so good value in my opinion)

No dodgey dump, smooth mandrel and the pancake is officially deleted plus the tips are nice and flush with the valance. Flapper is wired open for now and the sound will take a little getting used to. Its not as deep any more especially at low revs but get it up to 4k and the sound is very exciting, unfortunately traffic and road rules stopped me being able to pursue this search for a chub in 3rd and 4th where I feel the v6 does its best work.

All in all very happy with the end result, now just need to land a solenoid and wire the flapper switch up

calipers look SICK... i was thinking about painting mine when i got the new wheels on (was thinking red or yellow, would look good with my red/black theme)....

might need some help getting the tyres off though.... unless i take it to a garage.

did you spray the calipers or use a brush ?

Sprayed em. I know red would have added at least 10kw of power but the blue is much more subtle with the black although its only good for about 5kw
On red I would consider black calipers unless you have black wheels in which case yellow is the new red and if you can get porche turbo yellow it will add at least 15kw!!

Yeah 3M, got it from supercheap for about $20. The can just says blue, I dont think they do a gloss or matte.
