Well been around for a little while so thought I may as well start a little build thread to help document things. This car was previously owned by a forum member who has moved on so has a previous build thread and a good service history, I am the 4th owner of the vehicle since it began its days in Sydney. Car has lived in 3 states now, sitting on about 166k and besides the usual rattles and knocks associated with age and wear it is in pretty good condition, of course that will get better over time.
The list of mods done so far are subtle and as they are previously documented I will just go over a couple to give an idea of what is already crossed off the 'Performance Oriented Daily Driver' list:
Bilstien B8s wrapped in Eibach Pro Kit -40mm
Tyrolsport Brake Stiffening
Nuspeed 25mm rear sway with adjustable links
Nuspeed lower strut brace
Older style 18x8 RS4 reps
Custom Code phase 1 tune
DG Short Shift
Yellow pendulum mount
Decent aftermarket headset/amp/speakers
Car came to me in decent condition, a few hidden gremlins such as the lower mounts for the front bumper being broken, some slight peeling of the chrome strips on the drivers door and passenger rear plus in solid need of a good service. The front guard liners were also totally fooked and there was and still is to this day a knock in the rear suspension somewhere. So thats the history, on with whats happened in the last 6 months...
First thing was new coils, plugs, oil, diff fluid, brake bleed, cleaned the throttle body and then added this ghetto setup
This improved the sound of the engine and exhaust immensely, also a nice bit of throttle responsiveness that can make second gear quite violent which I do enjoy.
Car drove to Melbourne for my move at which time I replaced the fooked guard liners, no more nasties getting flung off the wheels into the engine bay and the car is 2kg lighter from removing dirt buildup
Next was a dodgy joey mod on the already very shagged lights, these are beyond refurbishing with broken clips on both lights for the indicator/fog covers and UV damage so bad the plastic has started to crack in places
You can see the damage I did to the reflective surface with masking tape in this pic, bottom and far side of the main reflector
Today this arrived, wonder what it could be...
Well hello there mister R32 exhaust
Now to get it fit and scare the kiddies![]()
