what happens is when i start it cold. the car will start.
in the first few secconds after the car has been started as the revs are dropping to idle, they will drop to low and most times the car will just turn off. then when i re start it it starts fine.
there is no loss of power, no abnormal reving when the car is stationary.
im thinking its a vacuum leak or bad fuel.
this started the 1st cold start after i filled with bp ultimate.

Mine was doing this when the MAF was dead/dying.
move to sunny QLD - problem solved
Temp sensor problem?? Very common to have problems with them on the Mk4s and create differing probs when they play up.
I would suggest retrieving the fault codes. Anyone with Vagcom or whatever near you??

out of quriosity, where was the leak? got the same prob..
it was on the boost hose that links to the n75 valve.
