cold air intake pipe size.

hey guys thinking of doing a custom cold air intake running straight into the shortrunner intake manifold.. i was wondering would i get more performance going big to small or small all the way through.. (eg. a filter with a 5" flange running stainless steel piping from 5inches back to normal throttle body size 3inchs OR using a filter with daul 3" flanges running back into a single 3" pipe to throttle body) oh btw i have a mk4 r32 NA

I dont think its worth it making a custom CAI. I have the neuspeed one and the filter sits in the bumper and i couldnt be happier. For just under $300 delivered it was great
