    Cold air intake for GTI

    Hey Guys,

Shortly im looking at getting a cold air intake for my GTI, ive found a K&N one (http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...Prod=69-9501TP), which i am going to get a price for from Repco twomorrow, and ive also found a HPS one from america (http://stores.channeladvisor.com/hip...ntake%20System)
I know afew of you guys have done this already, is there much of a difference between different setups?
Im thinking of going with the K&N filter cus i know they have a good rep.

    Evan.

They do, but they're damn expensive!!!! Memory serves, they're about $700 odd.

Try supercheap as well, they'll probably have a cheaper price than repco. Basically; shop around.

Another option you have is Evolution Motorsports (EVOMS), they are big on R&D and have developed some well thought out intakes for the 1.8T.

Thanks guys, is there much of a difference between the Cold Air Intakes by K&N and AEM that travel down under the front bumper of the car and the Box Air Intake by EVOMS that stays in the engine bay? Becus there seems to be some difference in price, with the EVOMS being a little bit cheaper.

    Cheers, Evan.

With the EVOMS you dont run as much risk of Hydrolocking your engine as the filter isnt down in a area where it can ingest puddle water...

True that. Also says uses stock ram air, which is a bonus.

10 minutes to install is b/s though or maybe possible once you get the hang of it.
