Cheapest option would either be JOMs or Fk Streetlines. I have Fk Streetlines and im really happy with them. After going for a ride in another MK4 with JOMs i was put off them with having a very harsh ride.
The ride in the Fks is really comfortable. Can go very low and still maintain comfort. Are a little soft for being coilovers where they can bottom out but just be careful like any low car.

IMO get Fk's you wont regret it!

Jom, hot tuning, ta technix, budget fk. All similar, most go crazy low, but generally you pay for what you get in regards to comfort.
Check Ecs, fk, eBay, or local distributors

I've run ta technix for past two years and they've been fine. Adjusted them plenty of times too without drama. Go plenty low enough for daily use.

    my JOM's are sweet as,
for the money they are WAY better than king springs lol

They tend to be a bit soft when you hit a big bump that throws the car upwards as it gets a little bit of a rebound but nothing worth worrying about.

but overall I am happy with them and would certainly recommend them if you aren't looking for ultra good handling from KW's or BC's etc that are $1300 + then you will be more than happy with them.

you can get them direct from V-Tech Australia as they are the importer for roughly $600 a set

just make sure you really tighten the lower control arm spring seat as it can come loose and disappear (happened to me)

Ebay is the way to go but can be purchased from many other places such as ecs like mentioned above

Good luck man! and if you have the skills/tools, install them yourself (really isnt too hard) and youll save an easy $300+ on installation that mechanics love to steal.
I was quoted about $500 to install them at one place and i laughed. Doing it myself i spent about $50 on tools to put them in.
Degreaser and antiseize wont go amiss!

BTW if you do it yourself make sure you purchase new bolts and nuts for the front coils/struts from VW. Very important as they are a stressed bolt and arent to be reused.
