I would guess its the master or slave cylinder.
A simple test for the clutch is to get into a high gear like 4th or 5th and drive up a hill. If the revs rise quickly but the speed does not then the clutch is slipping and needs replacement.
Who replaced the slave cylinder ? Why was it done - what were the symptoms ?
I have a problem that my mechanic says is the master cylinder, if I change from 1st to 2nd at high engine speed the gear crunches like the clutch is not engaged. It is most annoying. But the clutch itself is fine.
