The interior isnt completly stripped out, im still debating whether or not to keep the carpet.. its goint to be driven daily aswell as raced so there will have to be a compromise somewhere, a battery relocation sounds like a good idea to me, would also like to add an isolator switch as well.

Did a wee bit of testing today, it feels good on the dirt quite predictable which is nice and has a nice feel to it!

And somthing else ive been working on!

Spent some time today exploring the snow up around guyra. Also started installing the harnesses, i think im going to try use the original bolts seatbelt points for the lap belts and for the shoulder starps drill through the floor and use some flat plate on either side to spread the load. I belive that this will be satisfactory for cams regualtions.

Also has anybody put an aftermarket steering wheel on before? Can you buy a bosskit as such for these?

Okay bit of an update for anyone thats interested.
We ran the rallysprint a few weeks back, only having just got the car ready i was nervous about getting through scrutiny (car/ saftey inspection) especially when the othe 43 cars were mainly full rally cars from an escort, rx7, rx2, awd subarus, evos, rally series excel, r33 skyline... anyway you get the idea.
So into the first stage we were driving okay, ran well and really fast on the straights for a 1.6! Top of about 130 for the main straight and the wrx's were getting about 145 150. So we finished the stage and there is a lot of steam coming from the bonnet.... blew a plactic tee peice in the heater line going into the throttle body. So that was our day lol luckily someone was kind enough to let us drive there subaru, which was awesome of them!

So after getting home i fixed that and made some more changes, stripped more interior out, moved the battery onto the floor behind the passenger seat and added an isolator switch on the dash, moved the windscreen washer bottle to the back of the car, added an oil catch can and moved the air intake to the old battery location.

Went back to the club the weekend just gone for a motorkhana, although a much more low speed event compared to a rally sprint they are still tight and technical and offer some awesome competition, with a feild of 30 cars it wasnt a small event, gemini, rx7, liberty rs, turboed buggy special, excels ect.

I drove well throughout the day and avoided any wrong directions and penalties and didnt have any machenical issues, took out 1st in class C, and 3rd Outright. Stoked with that result! Especially on ROAD TYRES lol

Now its back in the shed for some more changes, upgrading the ****ty worn out gear linkages for solid metal versions without bushes, gearbox oil change, and a general refinement of the car, fitting up some rally tyres to some rims and getting ready for the autcross in a fortnight, this will be an interesting event being a 1km dirt circuit it often attracts some decent cars and lots of entries.

Anyway a few photos , unfortunately not that many were taken.. oh well lol

Yeah I agree, ill post up soms pictures of the inteior tomorrow, there is not much left to remove in that department lol.
I am going to remove the whole A/C system as it needs a new compressor so it doesnt work anyway, it will remove a fair amount of weight and will free up some hp and let the engine spin more freely. Hopefully will do this next week before the autocross but will see how i go lol
