If you had to choose between the exhaust and Chip which would you say gave you the biggest smile

    Superchips in WA

    Hey Sikbora
David is the guy I was talking to at the VW show and the one rodrocco mentions elsewhere in the forum. Did you get the 5 day trial period? I'm going to see David to get the Jetta done, but want to put it on the dyno for a before and after, but have to wait 3 weeks to get onto the dyno. Apparently not all dyno's can do Diesels. David said that the "chip" is most effective on the 2.0 TDi engine. I detect some excitement form you, so it sounds like it will be worth the wait.

Biggest smile gave me the exhaust and CAI, Steve is right. I think the chip on a NA car would not give you that much smile without exhaust and CAI.

Turbo car is something else, so I'm sure on your Jetta TDi will give you nice gain and big smile. I had free 5 days trial. David is a very helpful and understanding guy to deal with. Let us know when you do it.

Ask for a more agressive injector and fuel map as well an increased rev limiter when you get the car chipped. Match that with larger pressure injectors and big bore throttle body and you'll have alot more HP than you think on an NA car just with a chip...

    Hey SikBora,

Im looking at getting a chip next. Its going in, in a week for a set of coilovers. Finally! The car is actually in Sydney but im living in perth at the moment for work. And looks like ill be staying here for good! The car should be on a train this-a-way mid jan.

Where abouts in perth are you anyway? Would you be keen to show us how the chip goes? Ive got the V6 4motion too so would love to know how hard it runs with the chip and exhaust!

I wish I could take one that was chipped for a drive but I dont think there is anyone in Melbourne.

I will have a look into Superchips, sounds good.

    What exactly is DBW?

I've noticed you can't accelerate for a second or so after braking, is this part of it?

From what I have read it is either the way the accelerator works, or for emissions. Which is something to do with the catalytic convertor, I think.
