    Chipped Bora V6

Hi guys. Got my car chipped few hours ago by David from Superchips in WA and I love it . The diference is really noticable about 3000 revs. The car just pulls hard all the way past the red line, tried it to about 6800. Not sure if all that is due to the chip or the combination of the cat-back exhaust and the BMC CDA intake. Its like driving a different car, well worth the money.

Very happy. Off to another lap before the double demerits start in few hours

What chip is that ? Custom or GIAC/REVO/etc...

You should be able to rev her up to about 7,+++ revs with a chip before she runs out of puff.

Do you notice much difference down low ? Like in the 2 - 3 grand mark ? Any power loss or gain ?

Is there more pull from about 4,500 ? This is when the second cam comes in and I guess when the powerband is normally at its sweet spot.

Oh and could you pm or post what you paid for your chip.

Apperently they are popular in Europe. They had a stand on the Day of the VW and some dyno graphs. It seems good and the price is good too.

I sent an email to eurotorque asking about their chip upgrades and this is the reply:

    "Hi Nikola,
Our tunes have amongst the highest gains around especially for your R32 MK4.
We can take your stock power up to 195KW and 355NM torque without any engine modifications to your car. We also have other stages available but work best with further engine modifications.
We are currently running a promotion where you get a free K&N air filter with your tune.
Your car is $995.00 tuned (includes the K&N filter and express postage).
    Feel free to contact us.

Sorry, had not heard of them before.

What Power gains did they quote Sik ?

On their website they are saying that 12hp gain is what you get, bit more with CAI and exhaust. Its not so much about the power is the way the car drives now. The midrange is just amazing from about 3000 revs. Lots of the UK guys use superrchips. I paid just under $1,000 because i booked in my car on the Day of the VW in Perth and David from superchips gave me 10% discount. Very happy with the performance of the car now

Did it get rid of the DBW lag (Emissions) or the lag that happens with the accelerator ?

I wish I could take one that was chipped for a drive but I dont think there is anyone in Melbourne.

I will have a look into Superchips, sounds good.

The car is much more responsive so I guess that DBW lag is gone.
