Change stereo head unit?

You should check out spares at VW there's a new head unit out that will fit straight into all mk4 vehicles. It has Bluetooth built in, USB, SD slot worth looking at as a factory upgrade. These unit are an extra for the new UP's. sorry forgot the unit code.

The guy at Autobarn told me I needed a European ISO wiring harness with a female plug, but what I actually needed for my Golf MK4 was a male plug so keep that in mind.

Depending on the head unit you go for, you might also need a car antenna adaptor. I installed a Pioneer unit, and I used this to connect my antenna:

yea remy you are right. I got the euro to alpine (16pin) adapter over the weekend and as you said you also need the adapter for the antenna also. Its so easy to do, no worries at all. Thanks guys for all the infos!!!

you should be able to buy a connector that plugs into the cars wiring loom and the other end to the new head unit's wiring. it will match the wiring order avoiding a lot of cutting and soldering
