Mk4s featured in Forza Motorsport 3 - Xbox

My Xbox is running happily again now, have to say I'm very excited about this one.

The Bora 4 motion is in!!! The R32 will be as well. Not sure about the GTI.
There's lots of lovely VAG stuff in the game, VWs include MKI GTI (as Rabbit), Beetle, 'Rado, 'Rocco, Treg and of course some golves.

Can see here that the Golf V and VI GTIs are in. Sweet!

    Should be a cracking game.

GT5 will have VWs too, but the beauty of Forza is in its customization.

I had a MkII GTI in Forza 2. You can tune the stock engine, or fling it and install the MKV 2.0T, Jetta 24v or even go the whole hog and drop in 4 motion R32 running gear (with 3.2l VR6 donk). You can make sleeper cars like these quick enough to ake on an LP640 or Veyron. It's a fun game.

    That sounds awesome.

But how is the gameplay and graphics?

Forza 2 was rated very highly for its gameplay... the physics on F3 are measured 360 times a second, so the car reacts to changes in surface, ripple strips, gear changes etc quite a lot. I find it to be huge fun.

Here are some screenshots (the VW pics were taken on a phone pointed at a TV)

    Game comes out late October.

i've found forza to feel more realistic than GT each time i've played, but it could be me.

i like FM2 - cant wait for the new one to come out.

i concur about the mk2 with r32 running gear - supercharged, it makes a wickid "BRAAAP" and just eats everything.

IMO having played both series, Forza always has more feel to the game. GT has always felt like the cars were on rails and floating a bit on the road. Plus the whole clinical precision of it has always meant that it got kind of boring quickly. Forza has always had that little bit extra room for error which made thing more fun. Not by much though.

Forza 3 looks to be a different kettle of fish though. With AI that can actually make mistakes (shock horror) and an even better damage engine it should take us back to the awesome racing fun that was TOCA 2 where drivers would remember if you punted them off and act more aggressively towards you and also make mistakes.

Add that to the sweet looking graphics, heaps of cars and tuning ability, the game is going to be sweet.

    Cheers,
    Trent

Yeh I used to be an avid GT fan but having borrowed Pro-logue and having played FM2 demo I would play forza anyday. I find the GT menu's to be clumsy and cumbersome and it takes forever to do anything.

    Yippe for da Bora' s!!!

Oh and Toca 2 was fantastic ! GTR2 for realism !

I have an R32 and a Bora 4Motion (of course!) in FM2, and for XBox LIVE Gold members, a 6 car/ 2 mode free demo of FM3 has been available for download since 25 September.

Apart from non-customisable control mapping (which should be completely customisable in the full game) it is gorgeous to look at and excellent fun to play! The lighting and sensation of speed and physics are quite amazing. May finally have to get a Gameseat and hook it up with the XBox 360 wireless wheel?

The full game is scheduled for release on 23 October. Should be good...
