    CCM acting weird

    Hi all,

I have also posted this in the electronics section of the forum but thought I might post it here also for a bit more Mk4 specific advice....

I’m at a loss here with trying to figure this one out, so I thought I would ask for some help.

I have a Mk4 Rally with the factory fitted (more like dodgy dealer fitted) CCM or Comfort Control Module. Basically this is a setup that gives remote central locking with auto windows up and down on the Mk4 Golfs that didn’t normally come with it. It has a weirdo shaped remote, like a misshapen kidney, with a large and small button, one for lock, the other for unlock.

The root of My problem is this: When I want to use the auto windows down function, it works fine. When I want to use the windows up function, it raises the window about 40-50mm, then it stops. The annoying thing is, the procedure of turning the key in the door barrel rolls the windows up fully, so it’s not that the function doesn’t work, it just doesn’t work remotely!!

Any ideas on how to fix????

I don't know a definite answer for your problem mate, but have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to reset, and then using the remote to wind them all the way down and hold for 5 seconds then all the way up and hold for 5 seconds or vice-versa?

    Cheers,

    Cheers for the answers guys,

Not exactly that proceedure, but I have disconnected the battery before and this problem has been around since I bought the car and it's still around....

Do the front windows work with the 1 touch up/down from the drivers switch panel ?
They sure do, but the windows often have their own issues, like pushing down to the 1st stop when the window is already half open and the damn window goes up instead of down!!

If that is to disconnect the battery, then unlock with the key and hold for a few secs in the unlock position or something along those lines, I've tried that several times.

It just perplexes me that the setup works on putting the windows down, but not up?????

There is no safety feature on down action but there is on UP, maybe the remote add on thingy is tripping the safety and putting things into roll back.

Hmmm, interesting idea, though doesn't the safety roll-back feature take the windows all the way back down? In my situation, it just moves 50mm then stops.....
