    Cars running sluggish...

    Hi Guys,

is it possible that my car was running gutless today because of the hot weather??? I cant think what else, apart from the the Vpower filled up with on Tues was crappy.

Its running smooth, just really breathless,I mean its reving but feels like theres turbo lag thru the whole range....(I know its a V6 non turbo, but thats how it feels).

I have hooked up my VAGcom and I got this Engine fault Code:
    1 Fault Found:
16502 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62): Signal too High
    P0118 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent

Also how can I test if my MAF is playing up... do I monitor the airflow g/s values?

    Cheers,
    Dave

Shytzen!!! I have been going to the same servo since vpower came back online....never had a prob.

SO I figure the only options left are :
    a. live with it
    b. Octane booster
    c. top up with BP Ultimate
    d. GROUP BOYCOTT !!

Replace the coolant temp sensor and the seal mate.

You can look at the output of the temp sensor in measuring blocks, not sure which one though.
If you set it to log and go for a drive then have a look at what you have saved.

Mate block 3 will give you that but that fault is relating to an open circuit or short to ground which in most cases will be inside the sensor.

Sensor is about $70 at dealer or about $20 online from US

    Easy to change.
It really should not make the car sluggish, just hard to hot -start (at least in my case)

Looking at front of car, sensor is on front RHS of engine

    Here you go. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3386797

I ordered a sensor, clip and o-ring from here
    http://www.foreigncarpartsonline.com/

Select the VW link and use 2002/ 2003 VR6 Jetta as your car
    Part # is P4036-111921

The last shipment I got from here cost $15 shipping - bloody great

    Cheers,
    Keith
