    Car bottomed out

Hey guys, I was driving to a mates house yesterday and didn't realise that my car would bottom out on his gravel street. I had a look under my car today and saw this on the drivers side partially fall off.

Does anyone know what this is? Or have any idea of securing it back up as it is pretty loose now.

    Thanks

Might be best to jack it up safely, and have a good look at it.

Appears to me to be one of the plastic covers that always falls off.

Yep that is the plastic splash guard for the side of the engine.
It is held on with a speed nut to the underside of the chassis rail, access from the wheel well.
Jack it up and have a good look, if you are lucky the speed nut will still be there.

If I had a dollar for every car I'd seen with those cable-tied on I'd be looking at early retirement...well maybe not. Maybe I'd just have a nice night out once in a while
