get rid of the blow valve
it leaks, regardless you can see it or not
the spring is much weaker in it and does not hold boost properly
put your stock dv and try again or get a GFB plumback, if you want sound get an AEM Intake or a like.
i noticed when i had that bv, i lost 3-4psi
What’s behind you doesn’t matter..
I'm going to go 100% plumback and redyno after checking over the system. Will let you all know results.
Thanks for the PM's Fuzion and Bug_Racer.
Quick update.
Have made my GFB fully plumback. (The Hyrbid BOV can either vent 50% or you can screw in a cap blocking the atmos port which then recirculates 100%)
Haven't dyno'd it but just did a run and boost is still the same (max 13psi) and it is still losing boost as it revs out (havn't dont a 3rd gear full boost 150km/hour run like the dyno run) but car feels exactly the same as when it was venting 50%.
Is there any different between a DV valve and a 100% recirc Blow Off Valve or are they two different names for the same thing?
Any is it possible that the actual blow off valve enclosure leaks?
What’s behind you doesn’t matter..
No difference, I don't know why some people here call them DVs (diverter valve) when the rest of the world calls them plumback bovs.
Yeah it is possible, I don't know about yours but most BOVs have an adjustable spring (and a piston that needs to be oiled), if the spring is set too losely then it will bleed off air prematurely.
Tighten it up if possible, iirc the check is to see if you can see the pison hovering around inside it while the engine is on, it shouldn't be moving at idle.
Agree with Piere, disconnect your MAF and see how it goes, and try reseting your ECU - Turn car off, unplug your batt, tap the brakes, let sit for 5minutes and plug it back in and see how she goes.
Boost should be on the side of the piston and therefore not going to lift it off it's seat.
I don't see how one could leak internally, certainly not enough to be noticeable.
VW call them DVs why wouldn't we, it doesn't blow off so BOV isn't correct.
