Side by side shot of the old vs new headlight lenses. Shot taken on the obligatory wheelie bin work bench. PErfect height for me to work on due to me being 6.4" lol.

With the new lens and 100w globe fitted. Bit of a difference!

Instead of having one side of my front bar seemingly hanging too low, i now have both sides lol. Must be some trick to getting everything lined up properly i'm thinking. I'll have another go at re-fitting the front bar but i need to pick up some fasteners as there was a few missing

Was the lens replacement hard? I've seen people putting the whole unit in an oven to get it hot enough to separate. I've given my lenses a polish with a kit, but they don't look as good as the new ones you put on.

The lens replacement was made easier by the previous owner doing it prior to me so i had less sticky icky to contend with.
Using brute force will do small amounts of damage to the standard housing at the very least. I used a heat gun for about 60 second on each one and they came apart pretty easy.

It's been ages since i posted here.
I had planned on doing up my Mk3 VR6 also but that never eventuated and now sits under the house with a nice layer of dust on it.
The Bora has been driven. I'm up for a set of new tyres ans some adjustable rear lower control arms now before i can get it passed for rego.

If anyone knows a reasonably priced local supplier for the control arms, please lt me know otherwise im up for around $400 from ECS.

I've been searching for a set of control arms myself for the last year, and the cheapest I've found online is the Megan Racing Control arms from ECS tuning and a no-name generic set from eBay.

    Expensive stuff. Das Auto.

Nice to see you restoring this car. Giving me a bit of comfort as I do the same and heaps more to mine. There's just so much that wears out on these cars as they age
