Purchased some cheap eBay resistors, will find some scrap aliminium during the week and hopefully rig up something next weekend!
Even if it does nothing to my a/c at least I have piece of mind that my fans are working correctly!
my ebay ones have been going for a while now - running fine, they do get hot though

Made my resistors up today put the car on the hoist and looked for the place to mount it
And realised that because I have a cai, it goes through the place where you mount the plate! So does anyone reckon if I cut the plate down quite small to make it fit somewhere nicely. Would it matter that the heat sync is like half the size? Would they fail sooner?
dont know about how the heatsinking properties will be affected (however I do know it gets hot, so i wouldn't go a lot smaller....), but simply find a new place to mount it. I'd you the same amount of aluminium, but just make it square or other shape that fits in somewhere else.
