Don't think you're wrong, as far as I know the 4MO had factory 'sports' suspension.

I have been driving 1 4MO or another now for 10 years all completely stock but the suspension is about the only thing on the car I have ever though was slightly under done.

Yes it is factory sports suspension, and yes it is very underdone! Its alright for normal driving, but if you want to give it a bit of a hit (as most ppl who purchase these cars will), its really exposed.

    Passed the inspection
two small things: bit of oil around the aircon (didnt say what component)
and the mirrors opperate opposite to the seleced one (right mirror is controlled when switched to left side etc)

was supposed to pick it up today, but we want thoese things fixed first.
Has a 1 year warrenty aswell, so hopefully everything goes wrong in that period of time lol.

The mirrors may not have a problem at all.
When the knob is set to right mirror both mirrors will move together. This is normal on VWs.
The correct way to set-up the mirrors is to do the right (while the left goes nuts), then set the left.
The RAC guys may not know this.

My Bora V6 4Motion does not behave like this - right does right, left does left.
