I've got some originals I purchased from VW when doing my suspension ~6months ago.

You can have them for $100 (Upper strut mounts and bearings)

thanks fro that snowy, these ones below, would they be the ones I'd be looking for ?? would it be worth changing the dog bone one ? I know I had read in 99gti's thread he had changed on one half or something (that what was recomended to him) but not sure if would be worth on a 1.6L as it's main difrnce was power to wheels was increased ...........

    top rubbers and bearings

Thanks but since posting originally I had (what I thought was the top rubbers) the top rubber issue.........I had my bilstein's installed and in turns out (after visiting suspension city prt melb) that the tools who originally done them installed the left strut hat upside down and when turning the coil was moving with the hat..................anyways that is all good now but upon further inspection of the bushes, they are starting to split.............

I'd probably go with this kit. The rear bushes in this kit are from the R32 or TT so they are Heavier duty but not as solid/harsh as the full urethane ones.

Not sure if you'd get a lot of benefit changing the dog bone as well with the 1.6L, but you might if it's soft/stuffed, it might help your gear changes feel more positive. You'd have to be the judge, but the stock one in my GTI was fine and I only changed it to the APR one when the engine was modded for more power.

Some of the other guys might give you better advice on that point.
