Question Brake noise; new discs and pads

    Hi all,

Didn't know where to post this.

I changed my front brakes on the weekend (brand new discs and pads) - I cleaned everything with a wire brush, brake cleaner etc, greased the guide pins, loktite on the caliper bolts but I have noticed a noise coming from the passenger side when in motion. I know it's hard to diagnose without hearing it, but was hoping someone could suggest what to look for. The noise is like a small squeal (not constant) and only when driving. When I apply the brakes lightly it goes away.

Happy to pull it apart but would like to know if there's something specifically I should look out for. Would the guide pins potentially be the culprit? E.g. too much grease.

    Cheers.

Take out pads and file all the edges of the pads slightly this may help noise go away..

new pads need to bed in a bit.
Driving around and using the brakes helps them to bed in and the noise should go away.

Thanks grtuned for the suggestion, I'll try that and I'll also regrease the pins and ensure everything is all tight in there.

Stan, brakes should be bedded in now - it's a different type of noise.
