Seeing as you have the old master cylinder off the car, get the VW part number off it and get the right one to fit.

My 1999 MK4 Golf GLE 1.8 (non-turbo), recently required a new brake master cylinder, since apparently the seals on the cylinder had died and therefore required it to be exchanged.
Originally, this issue came up, as the pads were changed for the rear rotors, the brake pedal would go all the way in. The brakes were completely bled, and a "leaking hiss" sound would be heard from the brake master cylinder as the pedal was pushed to the ground. This is where it all started with the brake master cylinder.
So recently I purchased a brake master cylinder from ecstuning. As it was trying to be installed, it was noticed that the new master cylinder looked different to the old one, in terms of the position of the valves where the resovoir would sit, and other little differences. (The old one had its resovoir valves further apart, where the new one had them right next to each other.)
As this wouldn't work, I have searched many places for a matching brake master cylinder to my old one, with no luck! And because the car is undriveable, and since I live in a remote location, it is very hard to transport the car to a Volkswagen specialist to get it checked out. So my first hope is that you guy's might have some clue as to where I may be able to fish for this part.
Thanks!

The cars in my mates garage right now, but I've found a pic of the old one...
Ignore the resovoir and the cable, but it mostly looks like this, as you can see the valves that attach to the resovoir, are seperated. It isn't exactly like this, but for the sake of arguement.
This is the one off ecs tuning, as you can see the valves are more central. The old one also has the same mounting to the brake booster.
It looks like you got a mk3 Golf cylinder. I can double check that tomorrow when im at the shop

Really? Remember that the old one looks similar to the new one in terms of the 'piston' area and the mounting part, its just the valves that are seperate!
If you could look for me that'd be awesome! Having to catch the train to uni and work is horrible, just want this thing on the road
