    Turns out it was the slave AND master cylinder. My mechanics are nuts about vw's, so they got it all sorted for me. Which is also how I found out.. Cost was about $550 for parts and labour which wasn't too bad. Also had it serviced which was $350.

    I had the exact same problem you did though, my clutch pedal stayed in, except it was undrivable cos i couldn't get it into gear for some reason. All I know is, I got the bora back, and I'm stoked! Clutch feels brand new!

    Arnpro in croydon, Victoria. Good blokes down there, and they deal with the parts manufactures directly instead of through Volkswagen. So the majority of the parts are cheaper.

    Should take an hour to swop out the part and bleed the system.
    Bring it this week and we will sort it before Chrissy mate.

    To test whether it is the slave, clamp the rubber line that goes to it. Pedal should now be hard. Remove clamp and should go soft again if slave is leaking.
