    bora vf gearbox clunk

    Just got hold of a v5 bora auto as a daily but now have a serious clunking when it changes fronm 2nd to 3rd.
    it jolts th e whole car, it does not do it all the time but enough to make me thing something might be wrong

    has anyone else had this or heard of it.

    That's helpful Loon!

    I'm not familiar with VW autos, but maybe start out with a basic service and get your fluid dumped and swapped for something decent (Redline, Royal Purple perhaps?).

    They are filled for life at the factory. Life is 10 years, after which you are on your own.

    Changing the fluid on a box with issues usually makes it worse.

    Thats why I tell people not to buy the autos and have done heaps of manual conversions.

    I actually have an auto gearbox for that car when it dies.

    Thats as helpful as I can be.
