Bora V6 Headers, anyone seen/heard of these?

Hi Folks, found these the other day...look strangely cheap to me. i also emailed these folks to confirm if these are for the 24v VR motor. said they are...not sure...

    TOP SPEED AUTO ACCESSORIES, INC.

from what i have read, any gains would probably be marginal, but...still interesting...group buys perhaps...

I too was looking at these and from the research I have done the potential gain is indeed quite small if anything. The stock exhaust manifolds flow quite well, the restriction begins in the down pipes and continues from there. For a nice note and a marginal power increase a cat back system will do the job fine, for all but N/A race applications a custom DP and high flow cat would give you the best street performance.

Extractors may give you that old school sound but even at the exceptionally low cost I dont think they are worth it, but I am happy to be proven wrong

I'll happily provide you with a FULL Mk4 R32 exhaust for a small fee to increase the performance and sound of your Bora

The exhaust ports on a 24v are equally spaced. The ports dont look equally spaced in the photo they have given thus i'd be skeptical that they are actually for a 24v. Get them to send you a photo of the actual item they would send to be sure.

Full system = R32 headers all the way back to the tips. craziness. Wish i could have bought that for the extra r32 goodness.

+1 for the mad sound too.

Apparently the stock headers flow decently enough to not worry about it as others have said.

You need to extend the pipe from the cat to accomodate the longer wheel base on the bora, then you need to work out how you will tackle the dual tips as the R32 has both sides of the car. I have seen mods down that run an extended pipe for the right hand side back around the spare wheel well to the stock valance on the left hand side. Or you can get an after market bumber / custom valance to allow the tips on each side or even go full stealth and cut the tips off and dump them behind the bumper.

All in all its a bolt on mod and they do sound fantastic if done right.

pretty sure there isnt much difference between the 2.8 and 3.2 headers, so thats a whole lot of work for very little gain.
Note that the US cars only have 2x O2 sensors, and the euro/oz have 4. Ecu will likely throw a fault code if they arent in similar positions to stock (one pair before cats, one pair after) unless you have it coded out.

Those aftermarket ones look ok, but hard to guage how much more power one would make, i dont think they are the most restrictive part of the motor. If it was opened up with cams, headwork, ecu, compression etc I would look at doing them however.
