    Bora V6 4Motion suspension

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me categorically whether or not suspension designed for a Mk4 Golf R32 will fit onto a Bora V6 4Motion?

My understanding is that all the relevant mounting points are the same, and aside from the stock specifications in terms of spring and damper rates being different, an after-market suspension kit for a Bora V6 4Motion should go onto an R32 and vice versa. Of course, whilst that's just my understanding, I'm open to the fact that my understanding could indeed be wrong.

I have Euro R32 suspension in my Bora 4motion. It is a direct swap. I did it myself in my garage. The spring rate for the rear springs is slightly different as the Bora has more weight past the rear axle, so the swap is not 100% ideal. The slightly lower spring rate in the rear makes the Bora tend toward understeer, but with an upgraded rear sway bar you can dial this out.

So to answer your question, R32 to Bora 4motion is a direct swap but I would recommened an uprated RSB at the same time.

    Thanks - that's good info

The reason behind it is that there may be some Bilsten PSS9s appearing on a Bora near you shortly. And they can be obtained overseas for just over half what you'd pay for them locally...

Does anyone know of a good place to get a set of springs for these cars from? I have the struts but having a lot of trouble finding springs that are suitable. Everything available drops the fronts lower than the rear, but as the front already sits lower, it just wont work. I want about 30-40mm drop in the front and 55-70 rear.
I have spoken to King Springs about custom making me some, but I will need to be up at the Gold Coast for 3 working days and cant really afford to miss that much work at this stage.

    Any ideas or help??

BTW sorry for the thread hijack

Not sure why King Springs would want you there for three days - they should know the stock spring stats, and be able to make something to suit.

There may be some K-Sport coilovers going shortly - set your own height. Let me know if you're interested...
