Bora V6 4motion super high fuel consumption

    Hi Everyone,
I've recently bought this car and had it serviced, new tires, oil, filters, A/C, ESP sensors, CV shaft!
Spent around 2K just fixing the car, I am happy with the way it drives but fuel consumption is extra ordinarily high

I was reading about the possible issues and found this on carsguide website :

    "
they can also have trouble with engine electrics with airflow meters and oxygen sensors. The latter can send the fuel consumption rocketing if they fail, and may not send any signals to the driver that there’s a problem while driving.
    "

No error comes up when scanning, do you still think that it could be the issue?

P.S Current Fuel consumption is more than 20L/100KM. (Driving very conservatively)

The coolant temp sensor often fails on mk4s (V6 and 1.8T alike), which can cause rich mixture and high fuel consumption. Worth checking out I think.

250kms/p tank Eww.. that's messed up.

You could try cleaning the MAF gently with a clean lint free rag and some electrical contact cleaner. Same goes for the O2 sensors Although I don't think they're expensive so perhaps replacement is in order.

    Have you checked your plugs?

I ordered an OBD scanner off Ebay
Gonna monitor the fuel efficiency and do a bit of research once I received it. I will share my findings

    Hi mate,
I bought that device but have some connection issue and it says no interface, will sort that out with their support but just realized with VCDS can't program new keys.

Have you ever tried connecting to Vag Tacho software with that device?
    are they compatible?
