    Bora V6 4motion DIY Service

I found a thread on this a while ago but seriously can't find it anymore! It's doing my head in..

Anyways I want to service my Bora on the weekend, so what exactly do I need to do this? I remember reading there are some odd sized bits and pieces I need to purchase but can't recall.

I guess I can order from ECStuning and wait till it comes in before doing anything...
This is what I plan on buying from ECS:

-Ignition Coil Pack - Set Of Six $137
    -Oil Filter $9
-Magnetic Drain Plug With 10 Copper Washers $12
    -36mm 6-point Oil Filter Socket - 3/8" Drive $15
-Spark Plugs - Set Of Six $65
    + $75 postage

    EDIT: Don't worry, found it!

While I'm here anyone got a 36mm hex tool I can borrow in Melbourne? ECS is out of stock for a month..

You might not need new sparkies... i just had a major service (95,000kms) and they said the sparks were fine.

    also maybe add: haldex oil

Yeah sparks were changed at 95k so I've got maybe another 20k left in them. I bought them anyways for the future.

Just got my whole haldex changed over recently lol so don't need the oil changed.

My order from ECS was $338 for sparks, coil packs, oil filter, cabin filter, air filter and sump plug.

I had a cool pack die recently and they were never changed even tho they were supposedly recalled

The bora came with a coil pack on earlier ones and individual coils later on. Make sure you're has the individual coils specially if its near 2001.

Yep mine's got the separate ones.. I should have said "coils-on-plugs" instead of coil pack. That's the 24V VR6 right?

I was told by a member here a while back that they were recalled in the Boras but cannot find much on the web. Any point in changing them now? Car's done 134,000km. Methinks I should but perhaps someone has compelling reasons not to?

Yeah thats all good, I decided to change mine only to find out i got the coil pack. I think the recall was for the coil pack not the coil on plugs. In the end its only what $120, Id do it for piece of mind.

Simple if you got leads running to your plugs then you got one coil pack.
