    Bora V6 4motion = Jetta VR6 ??

Just on a holiday in the US atm and I see heapsss of Jettas. I was wondering if the Jetta VR6 is the same as our Bora V6 4motion (both MkIV)? I'm guessing the engine is the same but not sure if they are both AWD and if all parts match up?

I've searched but can't find a definitive answer and if there are any exceptions.

    Nope, different setup.

Motor is very similar but they're only front wheel drive.

Most engine parts are the same, coil packs, o2 sensors, etc.

US never got the 4 motion in the mk4s apart from the R32.

I thought the V6(vr) 4-motion Golfs and Jettas were sold in the states and we only got the bora only. i know they both exist in Europe and Japan!

The Mk4 Bora got called the Jetta in the US market, so the basic car is the same.

Engine-wise, as Peter Jones noted, the Jetta VR6 has a similar engine to our V6 4Mo, but the engine code is, to my knowledge, different, and although there's a lot of parts that are interchangable, there's also quite a few parts that aren't - not least of all because of the difference between LHD and RHD vehicles.

Be careful with suspension parts, as there was no 4Mo in the US, and the 4Mo has a different suspension setup to the FWD models - use the R32 as the example for suspension parts.
    Nothing to see here...

And the MK4 Jetta was built in Mexico, the Bora 4 motion was built in Germany.
