differences are intake manifold and gearbox runs an adaptor plate otherwise same motor as bora
hi guys
just wondering this as i have a few problems with my v5 passat and there seems to be more boras with the v5 engine than the passat so i figured posting in this forum would be better?
differences are intake manifold and gearbox runs an adaptor plate otherwise same motor as bora
ok thanks
then maybe you can help, my v5 170 has all of sudden lost power and is idling really rough
i thought maybe it was the coil packs but there is no engine lights or warnings showing
any ideas ?
thanks
have it scanned, should reveal the issue, otherwise look at the intake boot, they are very busy and can break and leak easy causing bad idle.
hi, i tried to get it scanned at a local garage but he couldn't get it to connect, maybe i'm gonna have to take it to a stealer they want $120 an hour to put it on diagnostics !
Am i right in thinking if the engine light is not on then there won't be any codes anyway?
thanks
no, engine light is typically only emisions related, plenty of faults can show without triggering it.
go to an independent like european autotech, camdem gti, the dealer will scan it but will probably want the job and hold back information.
ok thanks, i'm getting it scanned tomorrow
There are several members with VAG-COM who could probably help out. Don't go to a dealer.
I can't remember if bad coilpacks come up on a scan...
Nothing to see here...
hi i took it to a place is nrth parramatta but he cudnt get his computer to connect to the car he said it could be because ive got a aftermarket radio installed?
anyway he disconnected the maf and the car is running alot better, so that was his diagnoses, although now i have engine warning lights showing (probably because the mafs disconnected) but we cant check because none of his systems will connect to the car
anyone know why we cant connect ive tried three garages now they all get a no response from controller message on there laptop??
