    Thumbs up Bora V5 Mods

    Hey folks,

    New member, first post
My 03' V5 is out of warranty and I thought it might be time to have some fun, new rims and perhaps try to tweak / mod it a little.

Probably going to get some 18" Audi RS8 style rims. (http://www.tempetyres.com.au/product...=&part_no=1146)

What can be done in the way of performance?
Are springs a good place to start? I hear that Eibach are the manufacter of the stock springs..

    Where to start?
    Cheers!

    for performance..

airfilter and exhaust.. and that will give you sweet fa..

chipping is a waste of moneuy

so really your only avenue is to do the handling..

either that or put a 1.8t in it.

yeah unless you have deep pockets, there are no real gains you can get.

You will see a couple KW increase by doing intake filter and exhaust. Dont bother with a CAI (cold air induction). Just bigger intake pipe infront of the airbox and get a better replacement panel filter. Unless you can be bothered or have lot's of money and get a BMC carbon fibre airfilter kit.

When we are talking big money for performance gains.

I mean all custom turbo kit or doing a 1.8t conversion.

If i can find the link i'll post it up.
But on VWvortex a guy did want preformance from his V5 so he turbo'd it himself. and made most of the gear himself too. Just go search.

So am I right in thinking that you're better off to have something that has a turbo? More options for mods?
What can be done to improve the handling rather than springs?

I reckon suspension would be the way to go if you are looking for a splurge.
Get coilovers with Front and Rear sway bar. Strut brace was a waste of money, only good for looks.

x2 on that. coilovers will set you back 1500 - 2000 (or much more if you feel inclined ) but it will be far and away from any springs or cup kit you get. otherwise sell it and buy a bora v6 4motion lol... welcome btw

hey.. if I wouldn't drop too much I'd think about it.
I think I'm going to go gradual, lower it a little bit and tweak things until I'm a little happier with the ride. As long as I'm not going through tyres like an *******
