So, I've applied a new BIN file to my faulty dash (Kindly supplied by a UK Mk4 Owner), and it hasn't resolved my issues.
Now I guess it's time for a new cluster, and hopefully, I can get it synced to the ECU...
Hi guys,
Our Bora's dash has had a catastrophic failure...
It appears to have lost it's entire eeprom...
As you can see, I can still connect to it, and there is something loaded onto it, but it has lost it's sync to the ECU, and even though I can query the password, it doesn't accept it when trying to reprogram keys.
So, 3x things...
- Can anyone 'repair' the .eep file?
- Does anyone have a working cluster dump from a AGZ 1999 produced 2000 model Bora?
- Does anyone have a working dash for sale that's compatible?
Oh, and in case you couldn't guess, we can't use the car as the immobiliser has lost sync.

Edit:
I forgot to mention, that I'm only able to open "Blocks" 1,2,3,4 in VagCom, the rest give an error.

if you can pull your BIN you will be able to code in your new cluster
keep that BIN and then change the VIN, SKC, IMMO and Km's info into your replacement and then re synch via VCDS and you will be good to go
Ummm, apparently Michael is a mega Noob...
Turns out that the new BIN file did work, but to get it recognized after uploading, you need to disconnect the battery and reconnect it.
So, after a quick key programing, the car is now running.
Yay.
Too bad that we couldn't risk a replacement cluster, and the car has already been replaced.
But at least now I can sell the motor, ecu and cluster as a combined, running, paired unit.
