    Bora V5 Automatic Gearbox issue

    Hello Volks

Just when I thought I can enjoy a bit of issue-free Bora ownership, the auto gear box is playing up.

Sorry if my English is confusing, but I will try my best to explain.
The automatic gearbox does not change gears when its cold. And this issue only appears when I first start the car after a long hault, by which I mean for example leave the car parked overnight and first thing in the morning when I start the car, it doesn't change gears. After a day of work I start the car try to go home, it doesn't change gear. The car can still go forward and reverse, when I step on the paddle, it seems that it stays in first gear, so the engine is revving high but the car is crawling. I have to leave the car idle for a 7-9min until the temp raise close to 90C, then the gearbox start to wake up and change gears, the first few gear changes are a bit rough, the car kicks and jumps a bit, but afterwards it changes normally.

Dean at Volkspower says the scan didn't show any error code. But when he drove my car, even when the car is hot, the auto box still doesn't feel right. They did a service on the gearbox, flush and refilled the fluid, but it didn't fix the problem.

    Has anyone experienced similar problems?

    Thanks

i have the exact issue i have cleaned/ removed the MAF sensor .. it has solved the issue of the engine flooding but its still sluggish and lurches .. for it to change out of first gear it redlines .. when i lay my foot off the accelerator it shifts finally and lurches sometimes violently

Sounds like an issue with the valve body in the transmission.
