Bora trans problem, urgent help needed.

My gf bora (2l auto, 190kms) is having transmission issues, engine light came on and trans went in to limp mode or it felt like it anyway.
Wasn't shifting down, no forth gear, like it forgot how to change gears.

Ran it through VAGCOM n came up with 3 error codes.
Trans speed sensor, engine speed sensor and intermitent fault with transmission gear selector.

Looked it up, seemed like a common fauly with the two sensors so ordered them n replaced them (what a job for two tiny sensors). The old sensors where stuffed, one fell appart and the other had a corroded cable. Cleared the codes, the car ran fine.

Then without throwin a code it started the problem agan. Stoped the car, turned it off then on then it was back to normal....then not. Didnt throw a code for 20ish km though.

It will sort of stay in 3rd gear, wont shift down or up even when u shift it manualy, ocasionaly it will shift down but to 2nd from a stop.

The other error code not relating directly to a sensor indicates trans fluid is low but there are no leaks.

Has anyone had this issue before?

Hi mate let me chime in, experience tells me to scan all ecus just incase an engine fault is upsetting the trans but sounds like you did, good on you. Ok let me know what the code is that you have now. Is the gearbox 096 or 01M?? you can tell with VCDS top left hand VAG number on the trans 02 screen. Foils go bad on these mate, thats the foil that connects to the valve body it gets brittle and cracks after time, also check the very small pins in the multi pin connector top of the gearbox, common for green corroded terminals and they can be open circuit.
Just a couple of pointers for ya, grab the code
    Cheers
