    Bora Exhaust

    Hi Everyone

    I have the 03 4motion Bora.
    One of my good mates is my mechanic and we need to do some work on the exhaust. He said we might as well get a full system, it'll make it run better, get more power and give it a nice note. Pretty much replace something that need to be fixed, with something better

    So my question is, is there any websites, US if they'll ship or anywhere else that will provide me a selection of exhausts to choose from? That people have had previous experience with?

    You may get nicer (or at least different) sound, but you won't get much more power - exhaust restriction isn't terribly power-sapping in most normally aspirated engines. You'd be talking single-digit percentage increases.

    That's not to say the sound isn't worth doing it for (if that's your thing), but the power gains for a similar spend on a turbo engine is generally much more pronounced.

    Yeah thats cool, I knew the power gains would be minimal. The exhaust needed to be worked on regardless, so I was just thinking that getting a better system would be the way to go, instead of replacing parts with the same stuff that will be susceptible to the same thing, replacing it with something superior. That, and i wouldn't mind it a tad louder with a nicer note

    Something like this sounds great, I'd assume with a decent catback system it wouldn't be to difficult to achieve.

    It was reccomended to me by my mechanic, who is also one of my mates lol, that it might be worthwhile to look overseas before we turn to a custom made system.

    I was having a look through the trusted repairers section and found this:

    The autotech unit, whilst pretty awesome, won't work for you cause its a FWD system and you have the 4mower.

    in the FWD system you can see the backbox is along the long axis of the car. In the AWD it goes side-to-side because of the rear diff etc.

    Ohh i see

    Yeah I know what you mean, it does indeed go side to side.

    So I think a custom made one is the better option then? Unless I can find another one that will fit and will be equally as awesome

    Custom can be good. and bad. depends on the hands that make it, right?

    I was wondering where you got your rear bumper done to have to dual exhaust one on each side

    I'm thinking of just leaving the stock dual pipe on the left i think though

    Clearly I fancy function over form - my car is filthy, has scratches and the valance isn't cut symmetrically. But, there's a reason for that. Near the right hand tip is the rear tow-hook mount and its integral to the chassis. Removing it is probably illegal. so the tips had to be angled a little differently, but they are at least symmetrical.

    I have a new R-Line bumper ready to go anyway.
