Try shifting at reasonable revs Its not a F1 car. Last time I got any car to 5000rpm was when I missed gear . Would never do it willingly
I have a 2001 bora 4motion manual trans, and have issues with shifting. At higher rpms (4000-5000 rpm), I have gear lockouts where it is just unable to go into the next gear (shifting up). Also, sometimes instead of having a full lockout it is just an extremely stiff and forced shift (generally in 4th, 5th and 6th). Recently ive noticed the area around the shift boot is noticeably hot.
Difficulty shifting used to only happen at 5500-6000 rpm, but now happens at lower rpm so the problem seems to be getting worse.
Already tried replacing the transmission fluid, the problem is still there.
Has anyone else had any similar issues? Ive read that this could be due to synchro wear, but I have no grinding at all, just difficulty with the shifts.

Yep I can definitely daily my car, the main issue is on the freeway when my car is cruising at 2500-3000, so any somewhat hard acceleration will cause these issues.
Also of concern is how the problem is getting worse, I fear it will go from issues starting at 4000 rpm to 3000 to 2000 till the car is undriveable
Have you had a look at the Shifter Cable End Catches?
HillBilly LOL....
Nick - Before going too deep into synchro's and all that stuff.
I would suggest refreshing the bushings, readjust and see if it improves. Link below to sus out a few kits.
