    Bora brake pads

I'm after some new front pads for the Bora (4motion)
    Part number 1J0698151M

    Dealer price, $169 a set!

Are these usually commonly available at the usual 'parts stores' (Repco etc?)
Any one have a cheaper, but decent quality source?

I'm in the process of doing that - though don't expect parts to be cheaper! VW stealerships want $580 per front rotor (and that's at trade prices). Pads are about $300 a set. There are places you can get them substantially cheaper though (and get 3rd party replacements).

4m0ti0n: Check http://www.germanautoparts.com/Volks...a/Brake/153/19 - I'm fairly sure that the US 24v VR6 Jetta IV is the same as our V6 4Motion in this regard (not sure they got AWD though). I'm likely getting my replacement rotors for the R32 upgrade kit through these guys (http://www.germanautoparts.com/Volks...R32/Brake/72/1).

No there was a model there that had the larger discs, I think it was a 2003 VR6 GLX .
    looooong link below.

I've purchased from these guys before, shipping has been very reasonable, but was originally wondering if there was a local source for the pads (still tossing up if I am going to replace the discs - they are just on minimum thickness)

The 312 mm discs are around $270 from the dealer here!
