Bora boot not opening...

Mate of mine has a Bora and the boot won't open.
Key turns OK in the boot lock but no go.
Also if you use the remote to unlock the car,you get a solenoid -type noise from the boot release when you press it,but no opening.....
Any clues or known issues with these?

You have to remove the trim from the inside folds seats down to access!! You should then be able to see if something is broken or unclipped. The screws for the cover are hard to see as they have a felt type covering the same color as the carpet..
