    Bora 4motion temperamental

    Hi everyone

I have a bora 4 motion 04 model. It's service history and books are impeccable, it has had nothing but the best.

Recently, last week actually it told me that it was 3000klm away from its next service.

The next service is a big one, 120,000klm service. I know everything gets checked.

So what has happened is that since the service warning the car has started to show average fuel consumption start of 99 litres per 100 klm. The consumption very quickly drops back to about 11-12 litres per 100 klm.

The high average figure upon starting has never happened. Normally it would show about 15-20litres.

Any ideas? I'm hoping all goes back to normal after the major service.

Btw the fuel consumption I'd normal about 500klm per tank

Sounds like another of Volkswagens interesting bugs, As long as fuel consumption really isen't that high then I'd just recommend taking it in for its service when its due and letting them know. They will do their scans and stuff, might reset it. More than likely that will bring it back to normal.
