A bit of something random

I recently had my 2001 Bora serviced and it was given back to me and the readout on my dash had been changed. It used to say L's per 100km and now it just says 488km and I know its a little thing but it is starting to bug me heaps and I was wondering does anyone have any idea how to change it back or what the 488km means? I know that its the not the distance I've travelled on the tank so I'm just heaps confused about it

Rocker button on the end of the right stalk if it's the same as the gti. Also the button underneath changes between 1 and 2 display

the 488km is the distance you have traveled since the display was last reset. As mentioned above there are 2 different settings. One that will continuously record, and another that will record only single trips. These can be reset (not sure if the bora is the same as GTi) with the reset button on the underside of the right stalk. You can also switch between views by using the buttons on the end of the same stalk.
