Kumho KU31s have a good reputation for price vs performance (grip, noise, longetivity).

I personally run Bridgestone RE001s at present, and am very happy with them.
    Nothing to see here...

Just wondering if it's worth buying these second hand tyres for $500?

    Set of Kumho KU36 235/40/18, 70-80% tread

FYI KU36 is a semi slick tyre. Is that what you want on your car ?
It is a very soft and fast wearing rubber. KU36 treadwear is 180 KU31 is 320.

Toyo Proxes T1R all the way! Upgraded from the Kumho KU31 on my e30 and could not be happier. Will be definitely getting the same (in a different size obviously) for the Golf when they are due.

I run Federal 959 Neo, heaps of grip even in the wet, low tyre noise and good wearing.

180 is awfully high wear rating for a semi slick. Pirelli semi slicks are 60.

The SAAB 9-3 AeroX came with 150 rated tyres from the factory. Granted there was a letter to dealers telling them that any buyer must be told the tyres won't last 15,000km.
