    Exclamation whoa

I have a 2lt Bora, with my stock wheels i was getting 6lt per 100km at 100km/h, doing over 1000km per trip most of the time on highway km (these also included lots of towns where i can tend be a lead foot), now i have wider wheels on (8") im still getting low figures of 7lt per 100km most of the time.

is my car a exception??? i see the 1.6l models arnt even getting that. The guy that services my car often questions if my computer software is correct with some of the things it can carry on with, logging faults that are impossible etc, maybe something to do with it?

An interesting thing I have just found is that after replacing the leads in my VR6 the fuel economy has improved, where I was previously getting on average 320km per tank I am now getting well over 400km's under the same driving conditions.

Looks like the leads will pay themselves off in 7 tanks!

Dylan 8, do you ever push your car or drive in suburban cycle? My old 2.0L MK3 would be lucky to crack 7L on the highway and dream of less than 9L/100 in city cycle...

i guess driving to work every day would count but with only a ten minute trip its hard to work out. I use to get as much as 4lt per 100km when doing 60km/h around town once i got through the traffic lights, ill reset my trip computers and see today

i'm getting close to 500kms out of the tank, driving like a granny. usually average 10.8-11.8 around town using BP ultimate or V-power (didn't see the difference). didn't have a car for long enough yet to get a proper figure but thats what you get for having a v6

I've been testing the differences between V-Power & BP in my V5 Bora, it will take me a few more tanks to get the averages, but here's the results so far:

    ************
    BP Ultimate
    ************
    8.6Ltr to 100km
    595km
    8.4ltr to 100km
    607km
    ************
    V-Power
    ************
    9.2Ltr to 100km
    558km

Currently sitting on 8.8ltr to 100km

I haven't taken note of KMs travelled on a tank, but I do know my trip computer is showing over 12l/100km as an ongoing average... so you guys must be driving like Miss Daisy is in the back seat.

I can usually get an easy 650km out of a tank, but I am a bit of a sensible driver. I have been taking the long way home though to tackle some twisties to take my mind off uni crap, with the car still returning excellent fuel economy, still around 650km and not yet on empty.

considering the VR6 got just over 300 in the last two tanks, yours isn't all that bad especially considering its a 280kw 1.8T, and you don't baby the car either...
