Air bag fault

Hi there
Need advice on a passenger side air bag fault on my 2001 2 litre Mark 4.
Trying to get this car ready for sale and suddenly get an airbag warning light. Managed to get the car scanned and came up with an 00588:032 code, passenger air bag igniter resistance to high.
This model has no side airbags, only driver and passenger and have pulled out both seats and floor trim to check because there is a lot of confusing info out there regarding sensors and plugs etc.
I have today, pulled out the glove box to check the plug and it seems fine. I believe my only option now is to replace the airbag. Can this be done with a second hand unit, or does it need to match up somehow. I've had to cancel my roadworthy inspection till I can sort it out so I'm desperate for any help or advice.
Forgot to mention the fault would not clear.

I would check if the code goes away with a resistance substitute in place of the airbag, this will prove the wiring and module are good.

Yes, thanks for that idea. I can't seem to find a replacement Bag anywhere yet, hate to finally find one and find it's the same problem..

An airbag light wont go on its own, it will need a scan tool to clear it.

Well, after going over everything I could on the CORRECT airbag, including just checking connections, inspection of the clock spring, continuity of the pins, and cleaning ground points, put everything back together and took it to a mechanic with VCDS software and the fault cleared.
Nothing was obvious so I must of got lucky
