To Adapter or Not to Adapter

    Hi Guys,

just pondering on the future wheel upgrades on my Bora and I am wondering if I should stick with the standard 5x100 or go for 5x112 adapters to suit Mk5 and audi spec wheels, will this open up the options or create problems? Also looking at the added bonus of spacing using the adapters.

What are your opinions ands thoughts on this?

I'd say go for it man, you can always leave the adapters off if you find the right wheels in 5x100, and you can sell them to another willing mk4 owner. It's a very versatile plan so it will work well if you DO happen to find 5x112 wheels of your choice or you DON'T.

I dont think its really recommended, so I would probably search for wheels in 5x100 unless you have a reason to go 5x112.

What about finding a set your interested in and re drilling them? I've seen it done on audi rims which have the same centre bore and it works well. I really don't know how much that would cost but thats another option.

Not that I'm trying to argue with any of your points, but the main reason I personally said go for it was because this is the simplest option and the least-affecting one. You have the option of 5x100 OR 5x112 after, and if you decide not to use 5x112, just sell them! I personally think it's easier than re-drilling holes or having to wait around for that perfect 5x100 wheel if it doesn't come around. Just my 0.02c though

EDIT: And of course you get spacers as adapters too, for the poke as Steve says
